According to Japan's public broadcaster NHK on the day, with the addition of 31 new confirmed cases, the total number of confirmed cases reached 17,079. This figure includes 712 confirmed cases among passengers of the cruise ship "Diamond Princess."
The daily number of new confirmed cases in Japan has remained below 100 for nine consecutive days as of this date.
The number of new confirmed cases by region was counted as 10 in Tokyo-to, 8 in Kanagawa-ken, 3 in Saitama-ken, 2 in Chiba-ken, 1 in Osaka-fu, and 1 in Hokkaido.
