Hyundai Motor Company Establishes Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus Charging Station at Incheon Airport

On the 11th, Hyundai Motor announced on the 12th that business officials, including Koo Bon-hwan, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, Guillaume Cotte, CEO of Air Liquide Korea, Yoo Jong-su, CEO of Hydrogen Energy Network, and Han Sung-kwon, President of Hyundai Motor's Commercial Vehicle Business Division, gathered at Incheon International Airport Corporation in Jung-gu, Incheon, to sign a business agreement to attract a hydrogen electric bus charging station at Incheon International Airport.
This agreement is part of the Ministry of Environment's project, "Installation of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Charging Stations and Private Capital Subsidy Project." The hydrogen electric bus charging station is scheduled to be completed by March next year on a site near Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport.
Hyundai Motor will support the construction costs of the hydrogen electric bus charging station, supply hydrogen electric buses, and provide customer services such as repairs.
Incheon International Airport Corporation will provide the site for the hydrogen electric bus charging station and replace the aging shuttle bus models operating between terminals, and between terminals and the long-term parking lot and logistics complex, with hydrogen electric buses over the next five years. Starting with seven buses in the second half of this year, they plan to introduce 3 to 5 hydrogen electric buses annually thereafter.
Air Liquide Korea will provide high-spec charging equipment and hydrogen for the hydrogen electric bus charging station, and Hydrogen Energy Network will build and operate the hydrogen electric bus charging station.

Han Sung-kwon, President of Hyundai Motor's Commercial Vehicle Business Division, said at the business agreement ceremony, "The establishment of a hydrogen electric bus charging station at Incheon International Airport will be a good example for realizing the activation of the domestic hydrogen economy," adding, "Through hydrogen electric buses, the ultimate eco-friendly vehicles, we can provide a pleasant environment for customers using Incheon International Airport, and it will also serve as a stepping stone for Incheon International Airport to become the world's best low-carbon eco-friendly airport."
