Homeplus Launches Four Types of 'Signature Frozen Dough'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Homeplus announced on the 12th that it has launched four new products of its private brand (PB) called 'Signature Frozen Dough'.
'Frozen dough' refers to semi-finished frozen dough that has undergone primary fermentation and shaping, then rapidly frozen to maintain the product's condition. The advantage is that it can be stored in the freezer at home and enjoyed as freshly baked bread at a professional bakery level with a simple cooking process whenever needed.
With the increased household penetration of air fryers and the rise of 'home-stay consumption' where families cook food themselves due to COVID-19, Homeplus's dough-related sales have shown steady growth recently. In January and February, Homeplus's dough-related sales increased by 349% and 859% respectively compared to the same months last year. In March, sales surged by 1088%.
