[Breaking] Lee Jae-myung: "Itaewon Visitors Violating Infection Tests and Contact Ban Face 2 Years Imprisonment"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, has issued an emergency administrative order for COVID-19 infection testing and prohibition of interpersonal contact for visitors to sleep rooms in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu.
They must undergo testing at clinics within the province between the 11th and the 17th. Violations will result in imprisonment of up to 2 years or a fine of up to 20 million KRW.
On the 10th, Governor Lee held an online emergency press conference at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government regarding the Itaewon COVID-19 cluster infection, emphasizing, "Those who have visited six clubs in Itaewon since April 29 and visitors to the Black Sleep Room in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, who have residence, domicile, or workplace ties in Gyeonggi Province, must get tested as soon as possible after this press conference."

He added, "This order is based on Articles 18, 46, and 47 of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act, and violations may result in imprisonment of up to 2 years or a fine of 20 million KRW. If infection spreads due to the individual, a claim for the full amount of quarantine costs, including confirmed patient treatment expenses, will be made."
