'Radio Star' Pyo Chang-won "Almost Had My Smartphone and Laptop Taken Due to SNS Addiction"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Representative Pyo Chang-won of the Democratic Party of Korea revealed that he was so addicted to social networking services (SNS) that he almost had his phone and laptop taken away while appearing on an entertainment program.
On the 6th, MBC's 'Radio Star' featured guests Pyo Chang-won, Jeon Tae-poong, Hotfelt, and Kim Kyung-jin.
On the day, Representative Pyo said, "My daughter and son told me that Dad is boring and not to appear on Radio Star," adding, "There is a secretary in my office who used to be a broadcast writer, and he said, 'Even if you are boring, the MCs will make it fun. You should appear,' so I came on the show."
Representative Pyo confessed to being addicted to SNS. He said, "I use SNS a lot. It's a way of communication, but since I speak honestly, it sometimes caused problems. So the election committee even said, 'Let's take away his smartphone and laptop,'" which drew laughter.
He continued, "But they couldn't say that to me directly and talked about it after the election, asking me to reduce SNS use and post only after discussing with the staff as much as possible."
When MC Kim Guk-jin asked Representative Pyo if there was something he quit when he started politics, Pyo replied, "I quit the habit of interfering. I used to interfere a lot. For example, if someone enters the bathhouse without washing, I tell them to go wash."
When MC Kim Gu-ra asked if Representative Pyo plans to appear on broadcasts after retiring from politics, Pyo said, "What I'm aiming for is to be the MC of 'Unanswered Questions'."
He added, "I have a draft of a detective novel. During my time as a police officer, I encountered the limits of the law. So I thought about becoming a police officer by day and a vigilante punishing villains by night."
