The district was recognized for its efforts to promote children's rights through continuous child-friendly policies.
In fact, Seodaemun-gu hired a 'Child Rights Ombudsperson' in July last year to protect children's rights and prevent rights violations, and has been operating a 'Children's Participation Committee' to actively reflect children's opinions in policy implementation.
Additionally, the district conducts 'Child Rights Education' for infants, children, and adolescents, and through 'Child Abuse Prevention and Mandatory Reporter Education,' it ensures that suspected cases are reported immediately upon discovery.
Previously, the district was certified as a child-friendly city by UNICEF in May 2018.
