[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Among the victims of the massive casualty incident caused by the fire at a logistics warehouse in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, the identities of 8 out of 9 previously unidentified victims have been confirmed.
The Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency announced on the afternoon of the 1st, "At around 4 p.m. today, we received notification from the National Forensic Service that the DNA of 4 unidentified deceased victims matched that of their families."
Earlier that morning, the police had announced that the identities of 4 victims had been confirmed. Accordingly, the number of victims whose identities were confirmed today increased to 8. The identity of the remaining one is still under investigation.

The police identified 29 victims by collecting fingerprints from the bodies recovered at the accident site and conducting examinations. For the 9 victims whose fingerprints were damaged and difficult to verify, identification is being carried out through DNA analysis.
