'Safe Speed 5030' is a policy that lowers the basic speed limit on urban roads to 50 km/h, and designates 30 km/h in protected zones and residential areas.
Last year, Miryang City spent 205 million KRW to maintain 220 speed limit signs in parts of Gagok-dong and Sammundong. This year, excluding Gagok-dong, about 33 million KRW will be spent to maintain approximately 630 speed limit signs in four other districts, Samrangjin-eup, Bubuk-myeon, and Sangnam-myeon areas.
The city stated that it plans to complete the 'Safe Speed 5030' urban area speed limit sign maintenance project by maintaining speed limit signs in Hanam-eup and Muan-myeon areas before the enforcement of the Road Traffic Act Enforcement Rules in April next year.
