Kim Yuhyang (10) and Jung Yerin (8), students at Geumyang Elementary School in Yongsan-gu, sent piggy banks and handwritten letters to the Hyochang-dong Community Center (Director Lee Jeongnam) on the 27th.
This was to help local medical staff who are struggling due to COVID-19.
The donation amounts were 91,350 won and 79,760 won respectively. The money was allowance the children had saved over two years.
Through her letter, Kim said, "Medical staff are the lifesavers of our lives," and "I will always support you."
Also, Jung wrote a thank-you letter to the medical staff, saying, "I saved money given by my grandfather, allowance earned from massages, and money received as birthday presents," and "Please stay strong with this."

Lee Jeongnam, director of Hyochang-dong, said, "The children donated the money they carefully saved to the community center," and "It will be handed over to the Yongsan Welfare Foundation and used for good causes."
