WHO "Comparison of Safety Among Four COVID-19 Therapeutics"
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] The World Health Organization (WHO) announced plans to compare the safety and efficacy of four COVID-19 treatments and urged restraint in using unproven drugs.
On the 27th (local time), WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated at a press briefing, "Today, the first patients in Norway and Spain will soon be enrolled in WHO's 'Solidarity Trial,' which will compare the safety and efficacy of four different drugs."
He described it as "a historic trial that can dramatically shorten the time needed to generate evidence on which drugs are effective."
He added, "More than 45 countries are contributing to this trial, and many more have expressed interest," emphasizing, "The more countries participate, the faster we will obtain results."
