Wando-gun Signs Joint Investment Agreement for 'Eco-friendly Dasima Pack Factory'
Establishing a 1,000-pyeong Automated Kelp Pack Manufacturing Plant with an 8 Billion Won Investment

The agreement ceremony was held to establish a kelp pack processing factory, attended by about 30 officials including Shin Woo-cheol, Wando County Governor, and Lim Young-tae, Director of the Marine Bio Research Center.
The Jeonnam Bioindustry Promotion Agency Marine Bio Research Center and Belvijo Bio Co., Ltd. promised to cooperate in supporting administrative research and development of related organizations and invest in building a kelp pack manufacturing factory in Wando County.
Accordingly, on the 1st of next month, an automated kelp pack manufacturing factory will be built on a 1,000-pyeong site with an investment of 8 billion KRW.
The ‘Kelp Pack Processing Factory’ is a cosmetic manufacturing facility using kelp packs, expected to play a pivotal role in revitalizing the local economy by creating about 30 jobs and using 30 tons of kelp monthly.
The kelp mask pack is a natural beauty ingredient made by specially processing fresh kelp and using it as mask pack fabric tailored to the skin, showing excellent effects in skin moisturizing and soothing troubles.
Wando County and the Marine Bio Research Center will spare no effort in providing full support such as administrative assistance related to the investment project, marketing support, and joint research and development related to K-beauty to expand sales channels.
Director Lim Young-tae stated, “The Marine Bio Research Center was established to revitalize the local economy,” adding, “The center supports integrated technology to transform simple processing industries such as seaweed into high value-added industries and leads the development of the marine industry and growth of seafood processing companies.”
Wando County, promoting the marine healing industry, plans to develop marine and fishery biological resources with the Marine Bio Research Center to grow Wando County into a future growth engine industry with competitiveness.
