73-year-old man returned from Saudi Arabia via Tunisia 2 weeks ago
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been reported in Libya, North Africa, where civil war continues.
According to AFP on the 24th (local time), the first confirmed case in Libya is a 73-year-old man who returned 2 weeks ago from Saudi Arabia via Tunisia.
The Ministry of Health of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA), recognized by the United Nations, stated that necessary treatment is being provided to the COVID-19 patient.
However, concerns are rising that due to Libya's poor medical conditions, the human damage could be severe if COVID-19 spreads.
