[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the United Future Party, commented on the exclusion of Yoo Young-ha, a close aide of former President Park Geun-hye, from the proportional representation nomination of the Future Korea Party, saying, "Former President Park is not the type to say, 'Nominate a specific person.'

Regarding former President Park's message, Hwang said, "Even though the former president is imprisoned, he made necessary remarks about movements that shake the party," and added, "From the perspective of whether it is right to keep him confined in prison like that, I do not think it is," calling for the cancellation of his detention.
