Two More COVID-19 Cases Confirmed Among Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Staff in Sejong, Bringing Local Total to 44 (Comprehensive)

View original image[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] In Sejong, one employee of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and one visitor from Bali have tested positive for COVID-19. Including them, a total of 44 people in Sejong have been confirmed as COVID-19 cases.
According to Sejong City on the 24th, all confirmed cases are men in their 40s. Among them, Mr. A (#43) reportedly showed symptoms such as chills after returning from Bali on the 22nd. Mr. A resides in Gawon Village Complex 6, Dajeong-dong.
Also, Mr. B (#44) is a public official belonging to the Fisheries Policy Office of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. He was classified as a close contact of a confirmed case when the cluster infection began within the ministry and has been under self-quarantine at his home in Doremae Village Complex 1, Dodam-dong since the 10th.
Mr. B initially tested negative during the early stage of self-quarantine. However, he tested positive in a COVID-19 test conducted on the 23rd, just before the end of his quarantine, and was added to the list of confirmed cases. It was confirmed that Mr. B worked on the 4th floor of Building 5 at the Government Sejong Complex, where the cluster infection occurred within the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
As of today, a total of 29 public officials, including Mr. B, have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. Adding two cleaning staff members affiliated with the Government Complex Management Headquarters (responsible for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries building) and two family members of ministry employees, the total number of COVID-19 cases related to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries rises to 33.
This accounts for three-quarters of the cumulative confirmed cases in the region being related to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
