Police Crack Down on Distribution Networks Including Telegram, Dark Web, Adult Sites, and Webhard
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] It has been reported that the police have arrested more than 100 users who committed digital sex crimes using Telegram.
According to the National Police Agency on the 22nd, the police conducted an investigation into Telegram sex exploitation chat rooms such as the 'Nth Room' starting from September last year, and as of the 20th of this month, a total of 124 people have been arrested. Among them, 18 people, including Jo Mo, known as the 'Doctor,' were detained.
Since the 10th of last month, the police have mobilized 24 cyber terror investigation teams established at the National Police Agency and local police agencies to intensively crack down on distribution networks such as Telegram, the dark web, pornographic sites, and webhards.
A police official stated, "Through international cooperation and IP address tracking, we have arrested many operators, producers, distributors, and possessors of Telegram chat rooms distributing sexually exploitative materials featuring children and adolescents."
