United Future Party Recruits: "Mirae Hangukdang Should Unite Around Tonghapdang and Hwang Kyo-an"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The talented recruits from the United Future Party (UFP) who were pushed down to lower positions on the Future Korea Party's (FKP) proportional representation list have raised their voices to the FKP, urging them to "unite around the UFP and leader Hwang Kyo-ahn," putting pressure on the reconsideration of the proportional representation nominations.
The UFP recruits stated in a position paper on the 18th, "We were honestly shocked after seeing the proportional representation candidate list announced by the Future Korea Party on the 16th." Except for lawyer Jeong Seon-mi (number 17), all UFP-origin talents were pushed outside the winning range beyond number 20 on the FKP proportional representation list.
They said, "We were recruited after thorough prior verification by the UFP Talent Recruitment Committee and received offers to join the party," adding, "Although we may be lacking, we believe we became targets for recruitment based on the expertise and capabilities we have built in our respective fields of activity, as well as our passionate lives."
They explained that they accepted the recruitment offer because they sympathized with the party's values. The recruits said, "We decided to believe that embracing the pain of ordinary citizens struggling day by day and not ignoring the suffering of those who inevitably become socially and economically vulnerable in today's Republic of Korea is the path the UFP wants to take," adding, "Watching the FKP's proportional representation nomination process, it seems the FKP is ignoring these values and direction and is pursuing an independent course, which raises concerns."
They said, "For the UFP's sincerity toward the people to be properly evaluated, we must unite unwaveringly around the UFP and leader Hwang Kyo-ahn," and asked, "Is the Future Korea Party truly a party that shares the UFP's values of dedication to the people and political innovation? Is it a community of fate that can consistently practice the values pursued by the UFP together?"
