LH, 11 Companies Compete in Basic Design Competition for 3rd New Town Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] LH announced on the 18th that a total of 11 leading domestic urban and architectural firms participated in the design competition for the ‘3rd New Town Basic Concept and Three-dimensional Urban Space Plan’ conducted for four districts: Namyangju Wangsuk·Wangsuk2, Hanam Gyosan, and Incheon Gyeyang.
The competition, under the theme of ‘A Coexisting and Symbiotic City Developing Together,’ invited proposals for the basic concept of each city's spatial structure and the realization plan for a three-dimensional urban space plan.
As a result of the competition registration, 23 consortia completed participation registration by January 31, and among them, 11 consortia ultimately submitted design works. The consortia that submitted final works include the D.A. Group Engineering Comprehensive Architecture Office consortium and the Site Planning Architecture Office consortium.
The evaluation will be conducted from the 19th by experts in urban planning, architecture, transportation, and landscaping, divided into two groups. The final winning works will be announced on the 30th. The top team for each district (a total of 4 teams) will be granted the right to perform the three-dimensional urban space planning service and the status of chief planner, providing an opportunity to participate in the project alongside chief planners from other fields such as urban and environmental planning during district planning establishment.
