40s Man Arrested for Luring Young Siblings and Taking Them Home
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A man in his 40s who lured a 7-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl sibling to his home was arrested by the police.
The Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency announced on the 17th that they have urgently detained and are investigating Mr. A (44) on charges of abducting and luring minors.
Mr. A is suspected of luring the siblings B (7) and C (4) on a street in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province around 6 p.m. on the 16th, taking them to a nearby restaurant to feed them, and then bringing them to his home without parental consent.
The police reportedly tracked Mr. A’s movements by investigating nearby CCTV footage after receiving a report from the parents that they had been unable to contact their children for several hours.
The police raided Mr. A’s residence and made the urgent arrest around 2 a.m. on the 17th.
At the time of arrest, B was asleep, and it was reported that the siblings did not suffer any significant injuries.
According to the police investigation, the siblings were playing outside and followed Mr. A after he said he would buy them food; it is known that they were strangers to Mr. A.
