Wando Fisheries Entrepreneurs Join Blood Donation to Overcome COVID-19 Crisis

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that the Korea Fisheries Management Association Wando County Federation (President Kim Dong-su) participated in blood donation to alleviate the difficulty in securing blood supply at medical sites due to the spread of COVID-19.
The blood donation took place on the 16th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wando Branch of the Jeollanam-do Marine Fisheries Science Institute.
About 200 members of the Wando County Federation, most of whom are engaged in fisheries in the island areas of Wando County, temporarily set aside their busy work and gathered in Wando-eup to donate blood on this day.
Kim Dong-su, president of the Korea Fisheries Management Association Wando County Federation, said, “We donated blood together with the members because there is a shortage of blood due to COVID-19, and I hope this helps even a little. I hope everyone joins forces to end the COVID-19 situation as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, on the 12th, the Korea Fisheries Management Association Wando County Federation, together with local fisheries organizations, sent about 400 kg of Wando abalone, which is good for strengthening immunity, to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency at the forefront of overcoming COVID-19, as well as to Suseong-gu in Daegu and the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Association.
