Seoul Women's University Selected for 'New Technology Field Convergence Design Professional Training Project'
Received a total of 1.5 billion KRW in support over 5 years
Graduate students to be recruited from the 2nd semester
Selected annually until the Spring semester of 2024
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Seoul Women's University announced on the 17th that it has been selected for the Convergence Design Professional Workforce Training Project in New Technology Fields hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and will begin selecting graduate students from the second semester.
This project, involving the Department of Industrial Design and the Department of Software Convergence at the College of Future Industry Convergence of Seoul Women's University, is aimed at training excellent design professionals at the master's and doctoral levels based on shared learning and cooperation between universities and companies. Seoul Women's University, UNIST, Korea Polytechnic University, Sungshin Women's University, and Hanseo University will form a consortium to carry out the project.
Seoul Women's University will receive a total of 1.5 billion KRW in funding over the next five years to train convergence design professionals specialized in Internet of Things (IoT) services and data-based design.
Selected new graduate students will receive basic support equivalent to their graduate tuition fees and will be provided with opportunities to participate in various industry-academia projects. Students will be selected annually until the spring semester of 2024.

Professor Lee Ji-hyun of the Department of Industrial Design at Seoul Women's University said, "As this is an opportunity to grow into an expert in IoT services and data-based design, which are attracting attention as future industries, we hope many students will take on the challenge."
