View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Moon Seong-hyeok, Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, entered self-quarantine on the 16th in relation to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). He is the first among government ministers to do so.
According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Minister Moon recently received a self-quarantine notice from the Sejong City health authorities. Accordingly, Minister Moon plans to work remotely from the official residence until the 24th.
Minister Moon tested negative in a prior COVID-19 test. However, since he was classified as a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case within the Ministry who tested positive on the 13th, this measure was decided.
Minister Moon commuted to the Government Complex Sejong until last week and has been staying at the official residence since today, working remotely via phone and other means. He also decided not to attend the Cabinet meeting on the 17th.

Meanwhile, since the first confirmed case occurred on the 10th of this month, 27 patients have been consecutively confirmed within the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. The number of people who have entered self-quarantine is 292.
