Korea BASF Donates 40 Million Won to Overcome COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] BASF Korea is actively participating in efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by implementing a systematic work-from-home system and employee fundraising activities, demonstrating leading crisis management responses.
BASF Korea conducted a company-wide fundraising campaign to support the Gyeongbuk and Daegu regions, which have been most severely affected by COVID-19. The majority of employees voluntarily contributed, and BASF Korea matched the amount, donating a total of 40 million KRW to the Korean Red Cross to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The donation will be used to purchase hygiene supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers for vulnerable groups in Gyeongbuk and Daegu.
Additionally, BASF Korea is participating in the social distancing campaign to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by encouraging most employees at the Seoul office to work from home, except for essential personnel. Masks are distributed to employees who must come to the office, and an emergency operation plan has been established for each of the eight factories located across various regions in Korea in case of confirmed cases.
Kim Young-ryul, CEO of BASF Korea, said, "All employees united in fundraising to help the people struggling due to the current COVID-19 situation. BASF will do its best to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and overcome this difficult time."
