Airbnb Appoints Son Hee-seok as Country Manager for Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Global shared accommodation platform Airbnb announced on the 16th that it has appointed Son Hee-seok as the Country Manager for Korea.
Manager Son said, "I am pleased to join Airbnb, which is spreading the new tourism trend of 'living like a local,' and I hope that more people will benefit from tourism through Airbnb and that I will continue the achievements made in Korea."
Manager Son recently led the Korean team as the head of the domestic business division of Uber, a global vehicle platform company. Previously, he served as the CEO of Expedia Korea, an online travel platform. In addition, he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), sales, and marketing at Hanwha Group, and also worked as a management consultant at the global consulting firm McKinsey.
