Currently, there are about 100 reading clubs operated by institutions such as public libraries and schools, as well as independently run clubs in cafes in Gimhae, and new clubs are steadily being established. However, due to the lack of a separate management system, it has been difficult to obtain up-to-date data.
Accordingly, the city will implement the registration system to provide separate incentives to registered clubs, thereby revitalizing reading clubs and securing related data. The registration target is clubs with five or more members active in the city, operating at least once a month for one hour or more per session, with the purpose of reading activities and discussions.
Upon registration, reading clubs will be eligible to apply for activity funding support and participate in reading club workshops. For reading clubs without a fixed activity space, support will also be provided to connect them with spaces and venues. Additionally, they will continuously receive information about reading culture events in the area.
