"Turn Up the TV Volume"... Kakao AI Integrated with LG New Model TV
Control TV Functions with Voice Commands Like "Turn On the Power"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Kakao Enterprise announced on the 11th that it has signed a strategic partnership with LG Electronics to connect Kakao's artificial intelligence (AI) technology with LG home appliances.
Kakao Enterprise will integrate Kakao's smart speaker 'Kakao Mini' with all models of LG Electronics' 2020 OLED, NanoCell, and Ultra HD TVs. Through Kakao Mini, users can easily control the TV with voice commands and conveniently enjoy various content.
Users need to install the Hey Kakao application and link Kakao Mini with the LG TV. Then, by calling the speaker with "Hey Kakao" and stating the desired function, they can control the TV. Commands such as "Turn on the TV," "Make the TV screen brighter," "Increase the TV volume," and "Change the TV channel up/down" allow control of basic TV functions like power, volume, channel, and screen brightness.
The program, channel, and content search functions can also be utilized. Commands like "Play 000 on the TV" enable searching for specific programs, content, or VOD. Functions provided by Kakao Mini such as weather, news, exchange rates, and information search can also be enjoyed on the LG TV screen. For example, saying "Tell me the weather on the TV" will display weather information on the TV screen.
