First COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Danyang, Chungbuk... 21st Case in Chungbuk Overall
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been reported in Danyang, Chungbuk. This is the 21st confirmed case in the entire Chungbuk area.
According to Chungbuk Province on the 7th, A (47, male), a staff member working at an elementary school in Mokhaeng-dong, Chungju, tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day.
A was self-quarantined at his home in Danyang after being informed that he had contact with staff member B (47) from the same school on the 27th of last month. B was the third confirmed case from Chungju.
A tested positive on the day after undergoing a specimen test ahead of the end of his self-quarantine. He did not show any abnormal symptoms during the quarantine period. Chungbuk Province plans to secure a hospital bed and transfer A to a hospital.
