[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 6th, Yoodonggyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, participated in the 'Cotton Mask Making' activity with volunteers from the volunteer camp at Seogang-dong Community Center.
Volunteers from the volunteer camps at Seogang-dong and Sinsu-dong Community Centers in Mapo-gu have recently been working together to carry out handmade natural 'cotton mask making' activities in response to the worsening mask shortage due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The masks produced at the volunteer camp are primarily provided to vulnerable groups in the community, such as elderly people living alone, and some are also sold.
On this day, Mayor Yoo, who participated in the cotton mask making volunteer activity held at Seogang-dong Community Center, devoted himself to the mask production process. In addition, he reviewed the overall mask making process of the volunteers and did not hesitate to encourage their hard work.
Yoodonggyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “It has been a long time since I last sewed, and making cotton masks reminded me of the time about 40 years ago when I worked at a sewing factory for my family.”
