According to Gyeongju City and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters on the 4th, Mr. A (62, Gyeongju City patient number 15), who works for a subcontractor at Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3, tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Gyeongju City to 16.
Mr. A was classified as a subject for active monitoring after attending a service at the Shincheonji Daegu Church on the 16th of last month and has been under the management of Gyeongju City.
Mr. A is a daily worker assisting with on-site tasks and has been confirmed not to be essential personnel for nuclear power plant operations.
A KHNP official stated, "There are no confirmed cases among employees directly operating the nuclear power plant yet."
