Gwangju Police Confirm 97% of Shincheonji Members with Unknown Whereabouts
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 1st that it has identified the whereabouts of 981 (97%) out of 1,009 Shincheonji believers and trainees, whose whereabouts were unknown, requested by Gwangju Metropolitan City, and notified the health authorities.
The Gwangju police received requests to locate them in two phases on the 28th of last month and are currently focusing on verification by deploying available investigative personnel.
For the 28 individuals whose whereabouts remain unknown, the police plan to use rapid response teams at police stations to conduct more detailed location checks and notify the health authorities.
