According to the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai on the 1st, the masks donated by Shanghai will be loaded onto China Eastern Airlines flight MU5041 departing from Shanghai Pudong Airport at 11:55 a.m. (local time) on the 2nd, and are expected to arrive at Incheon Airport around noon (Korean time).
Shanghai sent 500,000 masks, equivalent to three trucks, to the Shanghai Consulate General on the 27th of last month, requesting support for Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions in South Korea, which are struggling due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Among them, 100,000 are medical masks, and the remaining 400,000 are KN95 masks.
The masks arriving at Incheon Airport will be handed over to the Korean Red Cross. Most of the masks are expected to be distributed to Daegu and Gyeongbuk. The Shanghai Consulate General expects that the masks donated by Shanghai will arrive in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas as early as the evening of the 2nd.

In addition, some masks will be delivered to Busan, a sister city of Shanghai, and to Jeollanam-do and Jeollabuk-do, friendly cooperative local governments.
