Daegu Records 1,017 COVID-19 Cases... 9 Days Since First Confirmed Case (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Daegu area increased by about 300 overnight, surpassing a total of 1,000 confirmed cases.
As of 9 a.m. on the day, the Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that 307 additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Daegu compared to 4 p.m. the previous day, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,017. This figure accounts for about 89% of the total new cases nationwide.
It has been nine days since the first confirmed case in the Yeongnam region was reported in Daegu on the 18th.
Among the total 1,017 confirmed cases, 447 patients have been hospitalized at Daegu Medical Center (156), Keimyung University Daegu Dongsan Hospital (233), Kyungpook National University Hospital (11), and others. Of the remaining 570 confirmed patients under self-quarantine, about 100 are scheduled to be hospitalized at Daegu Medical Center, Keimyung University Daegu Dongsan Hospital, and other facilities on the same day.
