Minister Choi Ki-young Attends KISTEP New Headquarters Opening Ceremony
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] On the morning of the 26th, Choi Ki-young, Minister of Science and ICT, attended the opening ceremony of the new building of the Korea Institute of S&T Evaluation and Planning (KISTEP) located in Eumseong-gun, Chungbuk, and emphasized the importance of national research and development (R&D).
KISTEP, established in 1999, is a policy support organization in the field of science and technology, responsible for supporting the establishment and coordination of national science and technology policies, allocation and adjustment of national R&D budgets, collection and analysis of national R&D statistics, and preliminary feasibility studies of national R&D projects.

Minister Choi congratulated the relocation of KISTEP to the provinces and the completion of the new building, saying, “I ask the executives and staff of KISTEP, Korea’s representative science and technology policy support organization, to adapt well to the new environment and carry out their duties with the expertise and responsibility befitting the era of 24 trillion won government R&D.” He added, “Let the Ministry of Science and ICT and KISTEP continuously communicate and cooperate to strive for innovation in the national R&D ecosystem.”
