Hong Nam-ki Orders 'Measures to Maximize Domestic Mask Supply' at Executive Meeting
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, instructed Ministry of Economy and Finance officials on the 24th to "prepare and report measures to maximize the supply of masks domestically."
Deputy Prime Minister Hong made this announcement at an expanded executive meeting held after returning from the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting. This measure aims to alleviate public anxiety caused by domestic mask supply instability. He also instructed officials to "pay special attention to personal quarantine" and ordered them to work at their designated posts in Sejong for the time being.
He continued with orders to minimize the economic impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis. He said, "Ensure the smooth implementation of early fiscal spending, package measures, and the 100 trillion won investment project."
