Hancom Partners with DJI to Advance Domestic Drone Business
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Hancom Group is partnering with the global drone company 'DJI' to promote the drone business in the domestic market.
On the 24th, Hancom Group announced that it signed a joint business promotion contract with DJI for ▲ cooperation in drone education business ▲ joint operation of DJI Academy ▲ education business utilizing both companies' brands ▲ development and distribution of public safety drone new products ▲ and new technology cooperation.
Hancom Group plans to train drone pilots by obtaining the operating rights for DJI's Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) education service solution, 'DJI Academy.' Hancom Group intends to establish the largest drone academy in Korea together with DJI by utilizing a 580,000-pyeong site in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
Hancom Group stated, "We plan to complete the establishment of the domestic DJI Drone Academy within the first half of the year and expand our bases nationwide by the second half through recruiting education centers."
They will also discuss the development of drones for public safety fields such as firefighting. As cases of using drones for fire scene monitoring and missing person searches have recently increased, the importance of public safety drones is growing. Accordingly, both companies are also considering expanding full-scale technological cooperation through the establishment of a joint research institute in the future.
