Preliminary candidate Lee Gang-rae emphasized, "If elected, I will actively participate in the enactment of the Basic Social Economy Act, which has not passed the National Assembly since the 19th session," adding, "The private sector's role must be strengthened alongside the two pillars of government and corporations, and for this, the social economy must develop more robustly."
Meanwhile, just before running for office, preliminary candidate Lee Gang-rae served as the president of the Korea Expressway Corporation, continuously realizing social values in the form of the corporation that maximize public interest and community development.
In particular, he secured sustainable business expansion for startup (youth and vulnerable groups) stores by utilizing rest facilities.
Specifically, as of his retirement, he achieved results of 147 stores, annual sales of 22.9 billion KRW (80 rest areas, 122 startup stores, 25 food trucks), created 478 youth jobs, and demonstrated practical effects such as rent reductions amounting to 2.63 billion KRW.

Additionally, since Lee Gang-rae took office at the Korea Expressway Corporation in November 2017, it is known that 16 stores operated by social enterprises within highway rest areas have generated annual sales of 3.3 billion KRW.
