Mercedes-Benz Korea Announces Recruitment for High-Performance AMG 'Driving Academy' Participants
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 21st that it will launch the 2020 program for the high-performance brand Mercedes-AMG's driving education program, 'AMG Driving Academy,' and recruit participants for the first half of the year.
The AMG Driving Academy is a program developed by the German headquarters to experience the driving performance of AMG vehicles on the first AMG brand-applied track, 'AMG Speedway,' and to learn various driving techniques. Since its domestic launch in October 2018, it has produced over 600 graduates.
This year, the AMG Driving Academy has increased the number of existing sessions and introduced new programs. The newly launched 'AMG Starter' is an introductory-level training for racers to learn track driving and slalom over two hours. The new 'AMG GT Experience' is exclusively for AMG Performance graduates and offers an intensive experience of the AMG GT vehicle's performance.
With the high-performance sports cars Mercedes-AMG GT and GT 63, participants are provided with four hours of vehicle control, track driving, and taxi driving experience opportunities. Additionally, a total of five levels of training are conducted, including ▲AMG Experience ▲AMG Performance ▲AMG Advanced.
Mark Rein, Vice President of Product & Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Korea, said, "We are pleased to present new and diverse programs year after year, as promised when we first launched the AMG Driving Academy. Moving forward, we will integrate customer feedback and interests to offer various programs that allow everyone from beginner racers to professional drivers to satisfactorily experience the high-performance AMG brand, enriching the domestic high-performance car culture."
