Chungnam Provides Living Expense Support for COVID-19 Hospitalized and Isolated Patients
[Asia Economy (Naepo) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province announced on the 20th that it will provide living support funds to local residents who were hospitalized or quarantined for the purpose of preventing and managing the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The living support fund is paid for one month, based on the livelihood support amount announced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, to those who were hospitalized or quarantined for 14 days or more. The support amounts per household are 454,900 KRW for one person, 774,700 KRW for two people, 1,002,400 KRW for three people, 1,230,000 KRW for four people, and 1,457,500 KRW for five people.
The eligible recipients are those who received inpatient treatment at a public health center or were issued quarantine or quarantine release notices, who have faithfully complied with measures under the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act, and who have not received paid leave under the same act.
Additionally, if the hospitalization or quarantine period is less than 14 days, the living support fund is paid on a pro-rata basis, and if the quarantine period for hospitalized patients exceeds one month, additional support is provided.
Applications can be made by preparing an ID and a bankbook in the applicant’s name, visiting the relevant eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center, and filling out and submitting the living support fund application form.
