"‘Light Festival Hosting and Developing New Themes Linked to Dolmeori Beach’"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Seong-chan, the Democratic Party preliminary candidate for the by-election of Hampyeong County Governor in Jeollanam-do, announced that he will hold a light festival to create a Hampyeong that visitors want to return to year-round tourism.
Candidate Kim released a press statement on the 20th, saying, "We must utilize the excellent resource of Expo Park, which has been reborn as an ecological and cultural tourist destination in Asia, more efficiently," and added, "We will push forward with full preparations to hold a light festival based on the currently ongoing nightscape lighting project."
The Hampyeong Light Festival plans to attract tourists during the Christmas and year-end season and presented a concrete plan to discover new themes linked with Dolmeori Beach.

Candidate Kim said, "We need to establish a system that can contribute to revitalizing the local economy through four-season tourism infrastructure continuing from spring (Butterfly Festival), summer (water play and amusement park), autumn (Chrysanthemum Festival), to winter (Light Festival)," adding, "We will also link this with policy measures such as expanding farm income and creating jobs through rural tourism industry."
