Former Representative Park Ji-won Says Increasing Education Facilities Will Attract Population and Enable 'Regional Development'
"Yeosu and Gwangyang have developed industrially, but population is declining; Suncheon’s population grows due to education"
"We will definitely attract the National Mokpo University College of Medicine to create a groundbreaking turning point for Mokp
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] Former Representative Park Ji-won (Mokpo, Alternative Shin-dang) stated on the 15th that "investment in education is the key to Mokpo's development," and announced plans to actively promote strengthening elementary after-school care classrooms, expanding education-related institutions, and attracting a medical school at the National Mokpo University.
Former Representative Park said, "If we increase cultural facilities for young children, daycare centers, kindergartens, and elementary, middle, and high schools, population will naturally flow in," adding, "Mokpo must invest in education, and Mokpo will thrive only if Mokpo education thrives."
He continued, "While Yeosu and Gwangyang have experienced population decline despite industrial development, Suncheon’s population is increasing," and added, "Yeosu’s number of National Assembly members could be reduced from two to one, while Suncheon’s could increase from one to two. I believe this is due to education," emphasizing the importance of education in regional development.
He went on to say, "Due to the impact of COVID-19, most elementary, middle, and high school graduation ceremonies prohibit parental attendance and are held in a simplified manner in classrooms," and stressed, "Elementary school principals are requesting the strengthening of after-school care classrooms, and I will actively work on this in the National Assembly."
