Gas Gong CEO Discusses Energy Business Cooperation Plan with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea Gas Corporation announced on the 14th that President Chae Hee-bong met sequentially with Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung in Hanoi, Vietnam on the 11th to discuss Vietnam's energy infrastructure projects.
At the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Trinh, David Lewis, President of the US-based energy project developer ECV, and representatives from Deutsche Bank also attended.
They exchanged various opinions regarding the Vietnam Binh Thuan Province GTP (Gas to Power Project) jointly promoted by Korea Gas Corporation and ECV.
President Chae said, "Through this project, I hope it will contribute not only to the energy sector but also to regional economic growth, becoming a driving force for sustainable development throughout Vietnam."
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh said, "I expect good results from the project involving Korea Gas Corporation, which has extensive experience and high credibility in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector, and ECV, which has excellent momentum in energy project development," and requested, "Please make it a model for strengthening trilateral cooperation among Korea, the United States, and Vietnam."

President Chae also met with Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung along with Shin Jeong-sik, President of Korea Southern Power, and Jung In-seop, CEO of Hanwha Energy. This was to propose the participation of the 'Korea Consortium,' consisting of the three domestic companies, and President Chae requested that the Korea Consortium be allowed to participate in the LNG combined cycle power generation project in southeastern Vietnam.
