The Democratic Party stated regarding Professor Im, "As a former executive member of Ahn Cheol-soo's think tank 'Naeil,' we judged that the column published in Kyunghyang Newspaper went beyond mere expression of opinion and had a clear political purpose, which led us to proceed with the complaint." However, they added, "we acknowledge that our complaint was excessive and express our regret over this."
