COVID-19, Zero New Cases for Two Consecutive Days... 785 Under Testing
The 28th confirmed case of the novel coronavirus in Korea is isolated at the Regional Emergency Medical Center of Myongji Hospital in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] No additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported in South Korea as of 4 p.m. on the 12th. Following the previous day, no new cases were confirmed today either. Three more patients whose symptoms have improved and the virus has disappeared were released from isolation, bringing the total number of discharged patients to seven.
According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) quarantine headquarters on this day, the total number of confirmed cases in the country is 28, of which 21 are currently isolated and receiving treatment. As of 4 p.m., 5,596 people have been tested, with 4,811 testing negative. The remaining 785 are still undergoing testing.
The 28th patient, announced the previous morning, was confirmed positive on the 10th, and no new confirmed cases have been reported for two consecutive days since then. The 28th patient had contact with patient number 3 and was under self-quarantine before testing positive for the virus just before the scheduled end of isolation. The patient's condition is reported to be good without any particular symptoms.

Three patients were additionally discharged today, increasing the total number of recovered patients to seven, including the four previously discharged. Patients number 3 and 17, who were hospitalized and treated at Myongji Hospital, and patient number 8, who was at Wonkwang University Hospital, have fully recovered and been discharged. For COVID-19 patients, isolation is lifted after two consecutive virus tests conducted 24 hours apart show negative results, starting 48 hours after symptoms disappear. Although discharge is not immediately decided upon isolation release, all patients so far have been discharged in accordance with the isolation release timing.
