[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] Yeosu City in Jeonnam announced on the 11th that it is recruiting 200 families on a first-come, first-served basis to participate in the ‘Urban Eco-friendly Family Garden’ where they can experience healing agriculture.
They are recruiting 150 families for the eco-friendly family garden (896-2 Yeocheon-dong, etc.) and 50 families for the organic garden (529 Ansan-dong). By paying only a participation fee of 30,000 KRW, participants can directly cultivate and harvest eco-friendly vegetables.
Applications can be made from 9 a.m. on the 13th through the Yeosu City website OK Integrated Reservation Portal (http://ok.yeosu.go.kr/), and recruitment will close once the first-come, first-served quota is filled.
Family garden participants will complete preliminary education at the Agricultural Technology Center, including garden operation guidelines and cultivation techniques, and from mid-April, they will receive vegetable seeds and seedlings to autonomously cultivate through watering, weeding, and pest control, experiencing the fruits of their harvest.
A city official said, “The family garden receives high annual response as the whole family can plant and nurture various plants, experiencing the preciousness of life and emotional stability.”
