View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Government is launching extensive disinfection activities in taxis, following similar efforts in subways and buses, to alleviate public anxiety related to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).
According to the city, the Private Taxi Association will begin disinfection at taxis using the Sinjeong charging station starting from the 4th. From the 5th, the disinfection will be expanded to all 11 other charging stations. Sinjeong charging station is the most frequently used among the 12 charging stations owned by the Private Taxi Association.
The Corporate Taxi Association has also purchased masks at the association level and distributed them, and plans to actively support hand sanitizers and vehicle disinfectants as soon as commercial disinfection products are secured.
Meanwhile, the city announced that special disinfection is being conducted weekly throughout the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).
On the 3rd, DDP underwent its second disinfection following the one on the 30th of last month, with plans to continue this once a week. Additionally, thermal imaging cameras have been installed at the entrances of the DDP exhibition hall, which sees many visitors, and security personnel are monitoring them in real time.

To prevent the spread of the infection, preventive safety guidelines are being actively promoted to visitors through focused broadcasting of videos and posters on the large DDP electronic display board and 61 other information media.
