25% of Manufacturing Facility Land in Pyeongtaek Poseung District 'Leased' to Promising Domestic SMEs
[Asia Economy (Pyeongtaek) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Hwanghae Free Economic Zone Authority in Gyeonggi-do will supply 'Altoran' land to promising domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the materials, parts, and equipment industry.
On the 3rd, Hwanghae Authority announced that it will supply a total of 93,416㎡ across 14 lots, which corresponds to 25% of the total manufacturing facility land for chemical and machinery industries within the Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) district, to domestic technology venture companies specializing in materials, parts, and equipment.
The Free Economic Zone was originally established to attract foreign-invested companies, and land is preferentially supplied to foreign investors through private contracts. However, domestic companies have been neglected due to cumbersome procedures such as public announcements and bidding.
Therefore, to strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic semiconductor and display industries, which have been weakened by Japan's export regulations, and to accelerate the formation of semiconductor clusters centered around Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and SK Hynix in Pyeongtaek and Yongin, Hwanghae Authority decided to supply land to promising domestic SMEs through private contracts.
In particular, the chemical manufacturing facility land being sold this time offers foreign investment incentives such as local tax and customs benefits if domestic SMEs wishing to move in receive foreign investment of 10% or more of their capital.
Domestic venture technology companies interested in moving in can inquire at the Hwanghae Authority Investment Attraction Division (031-8008-8632).
Hwang Sung-tae, head of Hwanghae Authority, stated, "The Poseung (BIX) district is attracting numerous inquiries from domestic and foreign companies due to its locational advantages, such as being within 20 minutes to 1 hour from nearby Pyeongtaek Port and customers like Samsung, LG, Kia, and SK Hynix." He added, "We are currently promoting the addition of industries such as electric and transportation equipment to attract future automobile industries like electric vehicles and new growth industries like drones."
