Jindo-gun Establishes Cooperative Response System with Related Agencies for Novel Coronavirus

Recently, at the quarantine emergency response team situation room of the Jindo-gun Public Health Center, an emergency meeting of related organizations was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Governor Jeong Hyun-in to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection in the local community and to respond with full force.
As the infectious disease crisis alert was raised to the caution level, the quarantine emergency response team and screening clinics (Jindo Hanguk Hospital, Public Health Center) have been established and are being operated to strengthen the response.
The meeting was attended by related organizations including Jindo Police Station, Haenam Fire Station Jindo 119 Safety Center, 8539 Unit 1st Battalion, Jindo Office of Education, Jindo Medical Association, Jindo Pharmaceutical Association, and Jindo-gun branch of the Forestry Cooperative.
In particular, they discussed sharing the current status of the novel coronavirus infection and response progress, as well as cooperation and support measures for proactive response and blocking the inflow into the local community.
The Medical Association and Pharmaceutical Association will actively utilize the established overseas travel history information provision program (ITS), the Jindo 119 Safety Center will support emergency transport, and the military unit will manage infectious diseases among military personnel and mobilize military medical personnel and facility support in case of spread.
The Jindo Office of Education will strengthen school infectious disease prevention management such as thorough handwashing, and other related organizations will enhance the promotion of preventive measures.

A public health official from Jindo-gun said, “It is necessary to comply with personal hygiene rules such as wearing masks for the novel coronavirus, washing hands thoroughly for more than 30 seconds under running water including palms and under fingernails, and covering coughs with sleeves. If symptoms occur within two weeks after returning from China, it is necessary to immediately report to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency’s dedicated call center 1339 and the Jindo-gun Public Health Center.”
