42 Additional Deaths in Hubei Province... Nationwide Death Toll at Least 212 (Update)
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] Hubei Province, which includes Wuhan City, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus (infectious disease), reported 42 additional deaths in one day.
The Hubei Provincial National Health Commission (NHC) announced on the 31st at midnight that there were 1,220 confirmed cases of Wuhan pneumonia in Hubei Province and 42 additional deaths. In Wuhan City alone, 378 new confirmed cases and 30 additional deaths were recorded.
The cumulative total in Hubei Province stands at 5,806 infected and 204 deaths. Currently, 32,340 close contacts are under medical observation.
Considering that the nationwide cumulative confirmed cases released by the Chinese government the previous morning were 7,711 with 170 deaths, the upcoming nationwide new tally will show at least 212 deaths.
