Lotte Duty Free Wins Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award

At the '2020 Asia Consumer Awards' hosted by Asia Economy, Lotte Duty Free was honored as the recipient of the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award. The Minister of Health and Welfare Award was given to Amorepacific and Paris Croissant, and the Minister of Food and Drug Safety Award went to CJ CheilJedang. Ottogi received the Korea Food Industry Association President Award, and LG Household & Health Care was selected for the Asia Economy Special Award. The judging was fairly conducted with Professor Yoo Chang-jo of Dongguk University’s Department of Business Administration serving as the chairman, and officials from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and Korea Food Industry Association participating as judges.
Lotte Duty Free, which has maintained the No.1 position in Asia and No.2 worldwide for the past three years, operates 8 domestic and 13 overseas stores as well as an online duty-free shop, contributing to the development of the tourism industry. Over the past year, Lotte Duty Free utilized the Star Lounge, the largest VIP lounge in Korea, to host various brand collaboration events exclusively for its domestic and international customers. Additionally, it earned trust in customer information protection and safety management by obtaining all major domestic and international security certifications. Lotte Duty Free was the first in Korea’s distribution, service, and duty-free sectors to acquire the Information Security Management System-Personal Information Protection (ISMS-P) certification, recognizing its customer information protection and service stability in both online services and offline store operations.
Amorepacific’s Sulwhasoo, a premium cosmetics line, promoted the 'Beauty of Korea' in the global cosmetics market, while Paris Croissant led the bakery industry through innovation such as differentiated product development and quality enhancement.
CJ CheilJedang’s Bibigo and Ottogi’s dumplings captivated consumers’ tastes over the past year, and LG Household & Health Care’s Nature Collection, which received the special award, was highly praised for leading the cosmetics select shop market.
In addition, a total of 38 companies including Lotte Department Store will receive the Asia Economy Newspaper President Award in various categories. The awards ceremony will be held on the 30th at 3 p.m. in the convention hall on the 12th floor of the CCMM Building in Yeouido, Seoul.
