China's 'Wuhan Pneumonia' Deaths Rise to 56, Confirmed Cases to 1,975
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyeon-jin] The number of confirmed cases and deaths from the novel coronavirus infection is rapidly increasing in China.
According to the state-run Global Times on the 26th, the National Health Commission of China reported that as of midnight, the number of confirmed cases across 30 provinces nationwide was 1,975. The number of deaths was reported as 56.
This represents an increase of 688 confirmed cases and 15 deaths compared to the previous day. Of the deaths, 13 occurred in Hubei Province, where the epicenter Wuhan is located.

The number of novel coronavirus infection cases is also expanding overseas. According to figures released by the National Health Commission, there are 4 cases in Thailand; 3 each in Singapore, Malaysia, and France; 2 each in Japan, Korea, the United States, and Vietnam; and 1 each in Nepal and Australia.
