Death Toll from Wuhan Pneumonia in China Rises to 41... Confirmed Cases Exceed 1,000 (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] The number of deaths and patients from the novel coronavirus 'Wuhan pneumonia' is rapidly increasing in China.
According to the announcement by the National Health Commission of China on the 25th, the death toll stands at 41. There was an increase of 16 deaths in just one day.
In Hubei Province, where Wuhan (武漢), the epicenter of 'Wuhan pneumonia,' is located, 39 people have died. Additionally, one death each was reported in Hebei (河北) Province and Heilongjiang (黑龍江) Province.
The number of confirmed Wuhan pneumonia cases in China has surpassed 1,000 for the first time, reaching 1,287. Among the 1,287 confirmed cases, 237 are in severe condition, and 38 patients have been discharged. There are 1,965 suspected cases reported.
Out of the 34 provinces (including municipalities and autonomous regions) in China, patients have been reported in all regions except Tibet in the west. The number of close contacts has reached 15,197, of which 13,967 are still under medical observation.
